The Central Bank of Syria has opened a branch in Idlib governorate, expanding its presence in the province as part of a broader plan to widen the bank’s reach across Syria’s governorates. The move is intended to support financial and banking activity, improve delivery of financial services to the public sector and financial services companies, and strengthen the execution of core banking functions in support of economic activity and financial stability. The Idlib branch will carry out the banking tasks assigned to it, including managing accounts for public entities, supplying cash liquidity to operating banks, and processing transfers and financial settlements. It will also regulate cash circulation, facilitate currency exchange and replacement of damaged banknotes, and support the efficiency of payment systems in the province.
