In a message marking IOSCO World Investor Week 2026, International Financial Services Centres Authority Chairperson K. Rajaraman outlined an investor education campaign focused on digital deception, scam awareness and investor resilience. The authority and market infrastructure institutions are holding awareness and educational activities from October 5 to 9, including an October 6 conference on consumer protection in the digital era. Rajaraman warned that deepfakes, cloned voices, fabricated documents, impersonation and AI-generated misinformation are making financial fraud harder to detect. He called on regulated entities to maintain appropriate safeguards, communicate clearly, protect consumer information, monitor unusual activity and handle complaints fairly and promptly. During the October 6 conference, the IFSCA Academy will launch certification courses covering cybersecurity and cyber resilience, corporate governance and insurance.
