Andorra's Ministry of Finance reported that the Government has approved amendments to the regulation governing payment service providers, aiming to facilitate payments between Andorra and European Union countries while strengthening user protection and transparency. The changes are framed as part of Andorra’s commitment to align its rules with European Union requirements arising from the 2011 Monetary Agreement. The reform updates Andorra’s 2018 framework to reflect more recent EU standards, with measures intended to support easier and more automated euro credit transfers and direct debits within the Single Euro Payments Area. It also introduces requirements to ensure clear information on fees and currency conversion options, so that citizens and businesses have the necessary information before initiating transactions.
