The Reserve Bank of Australia reported that total credit grew 0.6% in July 2026 and 8.4% over the year, with annual growth accelerating from 7.2% in July 2025. Business credit recorded the strongest annual increase at 10.6%, followed by housing credit at 7.4% and personal credit at 4.7%. Broad money rose 0.3% during the month and 7.7% over the year. Historical levels and growth rates were revised to reflect resubmitted intermediary data, re-estimated seasonal factors and incorporated securitisation data. The RBA also warned that decommissioning the Direct to APRA reporting system may delay publication of financial aggregates and some statistical tables over the coming months.
