The Central Bank of Honduras has released the results of the National Household Income and Expenditure Survey (ENIGH 2023-2024), making the full report, methodology and questionnaires available online without access restrictions. The results provide an updated picture of household income and spending patterns and are intended to serve as the main basis for an upcoming update of the goods and services basket used to compile the Consumer Price Index (CPI). ENIGH 2023-2024 surveyed 8,746 households in urban and rural areas across 176 municipalities using a random sample, with face-to-face interviews conducted between 12 April 2023 and 10 April 2024 to capture seasonality in income and consumption. For the first time, the survey covered all 18 departments, including Gracias a Dios and the Bay Islands, and it supports analysis of changes in household consumption patterns from 1998 to the present.
