The National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan issued a statement in response to the Council of the European Union’s 19th sanctions package against the Russian Federation, noting that it covers the activities of certain banks and companies in several third countries, including Tajikistan. The central bank is reviewing and monitoring the situation with credit institutions and other competent authorities, and is consulting international partners to understand the implications and reduce the likelihood of negative effects. Banking services for customers in Tajikistan are continuing as normal, including domestic operations, account servicing, cards, ATMs, applications and electronic services. For international transfers to some destinations, additional checks or changes to standard processing may be introduced, and customers will be informed about the ability to execute such transactions.
