The South Korean Ministry of Economy and Finance announced that Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Koo Yun-cheol will attend the Group of 20 finance ministers and central bank governors meeting in Asheville, North Carolina, from Aug. 31 to Sept. 1. Discussions will cover the global economy, growth and monetary policies, debt, global imbalances, financial literacy and fraud. Koo plans to present South Korea’s economic fundamentals and efforts to increase its medium- and long-term growth potential while addressing structural challenges. He will also provide South Korea’s views on global debt and imbalances, participate in discussions with private-sector representatives and pursue bilateral meetings with finance ministers and other officials on economic cooperation and global growth.
