The Hong Kong Monetary Authority alerted the public to reported scams involving fraudulent websites, internet banking login screens, phishing emails or similar methods. It reminded customers that banks do not send SMS messages or emails containing links to conduct transactions and do not request login passwords or one-time passwords by phone, email or SMS. Anyone who provided personal information or conducted a financial transaction in response to such a scam should contact the relevant bank and report the matter to the Hong Kong Police Force.
