The Brazilian Superintendence of Private Insurance (SUSEP) published the latest Boletim Susep with performance data for the supervised market through July 2025. Total sector revenues reached BRL 247.45 billion from January to July 2025, down 0.98% in nominal terms from BRL 249.91 billion in the same period of 2024, while claims, surrenders, benefits and prize draws totalled BRL 154.02 billion, up 9.30% year on year in nominal terms. Property and personal insurance (excluding VGBL) generated BRL 126.80 billion in revenues over the first seven months of 2025, a nominal increase of 7.54% versus 2024. Within property insurance, motor insurance retained the largest share at 42% of the total and recorded nominal growth of 5.92% and real growth of 0.69%. In personal insurance, life insurance expanded by 10.83% in nominal terms and 5.35% in real terms compared with the same period of 2024.
