Norway's Department of Finance has designated DNB Bank ASA, Kommunalbanken AS, Nordea Eiendomskreditt AS, Sparebank 1 Sør-Norge ASA and Sparebanken Norge as systemically important financial institutions in Norway, with associated systemic importance buffer requirements. DNB Bank ASA must continue to meet a 2% buffer requirement, while Kommunalbanken AS, Nordea Eiendomskreditt AS and Sparebank 1 Sør-Norge ASA must continue to meet a 1% requirement. Sparebanken Norge must meet a 1% buffer requirement from 31 March 2027. The decision aligns with advice from Finanstilsynet and follows notification to relevant EU/EEA authorities in August, after which the Standing Committee of the EFTA States approved the buffer requirements.
