The Central Bank of Brazil has opened three postgraduate research internships for master’s and doctoral students. One position will focus on climate risks, economic activity and the financial system, while two will cover public policy evaluation, financial education and inclusion, banking and credit, and consumer behavioral economics. Research may use machine learning, big data and georeferencing methods. The internships require 30 hours a week and initially run for six months, with six-month renewals possible for up to two years while the participant remains enrolled. They offer a monthly stipend of BRL 2,231.39 and may be conducted remotely or in person, although some data work must take place at designated Central Bank offices.
