The Sustainable Banking and Finance Network (SBFN) has announced that the Moldovan Banks Association (ABM) has joined as its newest member, marking the network’s 100th membership. The addition brings Moldova’s main banking industry association into SBFN alongside the National Bank of Moldova, which joined in November 2023. ABM, established in 1993 as a professional nonprofit representing Moldova’s banking sector, has been involved in sustainable finance capacity building and policy coordination, including participation in a training of trainers programme on sustainable finance and environmental, social, and governance principles in March 2024. The association also participates in Moldova’s interagency steering committee on climate finance and in the Sustainable Finance Working Group set up by the National Bank of Moldova to support implementation of the central bank’s Sustainable Finance Roadmap adopted in May 2024. SBFN said ABM joins a membership base spanning regulators, banking associations and development finance institutions across 72 countries.
