The Bank of Italy published two documents outlining its sustainability approach: the Management and Sustainability Report and the fourth Report on Sustainable Investments and Climate Risks, released alongside the Governor’s Concluding Remarks. The Management and Sustainability Report is the Bank’s main accountability document to Parliament, the Government and the wider public and, from this year, merges three previous publications into a more concise and accessible overview of the institution’s role and functions, activities and results over the year, and its ongoing sustainability commitments. The sustainable investment and climate risk report summarises results achieved in 2024 in applying sustainable and responsible investment principles to financial portfolios not linked to monetary policy, and reiterates that these investments are managed in line with the Paris Agreement, European Union strategies and the shared approach agreed with other Eurosystem central banks.
