Moldova's Ministry of Finance participated in a public dialogue hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova, bringing together business representatives from across the country to discuss budget and tax policy priorities and the simplification of administrative and fiscal procedures. The ministry highlighted a focus on reducing administrative burden and strengthening engagement with the private sector, alongside discussion of issues linked to recent fiscal policy changes. Topics raised included the deductibility of certain employee-related expenses, customs guarantees for the active processing regime, the application of a reduced value-added tax rate to certain imported food products, the tax treatment of e-commerce, customs valuation, and customs duty rates on imported raw materials. The need for clearer approaches to tax inspections was also flagged to avoid inconsistent interpretations and additional risks for companies. Businesses presented concrete cases and proposals to simplify administrative processes, which the Chamber of Commerce and Industry will systematise and transmit to the Ministry of Finance and other competent authorities for examination.
