The Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency and the Ministry of Finance have launched a public consultation on draft legislation establishing the Croatian Investment Account, a regulated account for natural persons. Subject to statutory conditions, the account would allow investments in shares, bonds, money market instruments, undertakings for collective investment in transferable securities and exchange-traded funds without incurring tax liabilities. Each citizen could hold one account with an authorized intermediary registered by the agency. The intermediary would handle the account’s administrative obligations, while the holder could manage the funds freely. Proposed cumulative payments are capped at EUR 200,000, rising to EUR 250,000 under specified conditions. The consultation runs from July 24 to Aug. 23, 2026.
