The National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan published a note on a meeting between its chairman, Firdavs Tolibzoda, and representatives of J.P. Morgan, Loomis Sayles & Company, Morgan Stanley Investment Management and Global Evolution. The talks covered the global and regional economic environment, Tajikistan’s economic outlook, financial and banking sector reforms, and opportunities to attract investment, with both sides also discussing banking standards and digital financial services. The bank highlighted the implementation of international standards in banking and the expansion of digital finance as key themes. It noted a significant recent increase in payment cards, electronic wallets and non-cash transactions in Tajikistan, and identified green economy financing, stronger digital infrastructure and support for small and medium-sized enterprises as priority areas for foreign investors. The meeting concluded with both sides expressing interest in continuing dialogue and exploring cooperation in finance, investment and the banking system.
