Turkmenistan's Ministry of Finance reported that national authorities and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) signed five memorandums of understanding to broaden cooperation across the financial sector, sustainable infrastructure and economic diversification. The agreements include a framework setting the EBRD’s strategic priorities in Turkmenistan for 2027 to 2032. The Central Bank of Turkmenistan and the EBRD also agreed a strategic partnership focused on strengthening the banking system and supporting export-oriented growth and diversification. The other memorandums cover sustainable energy, environmental protection and efficient water use, modernization of transport corridors and transit capacity, and cooperation with Ashgabat under the EBRD Green Cities program.
