The Bank of Greece announced that Dimitrios Tsomocos has been appointed deputy governor by Presidential Decree for a six-year term. Tsomocos is professor of financial economics at Saïd Business School and a fellow in management at St Edmund Hall, University of Oxford. Tsomocos will be sworn in on Sept. 24, 2026. The Bank of Greece’s administration will then comprise Governor Yannis Stournaras and Deputy Governors Christina Papaconstantinou and Dimitrios Tsomocos.

Dimitrios Tsomocos has been appointed deputy governor of the Bank of Greece for a six-year term. He will be sworn in on Sept. 24, 2026, joining Governor Yannis Stournaras and Deputy Governor Christina Papaconstantinou.
