The United States House Financial Services Committee has opened a request for public feedback on its “Make Community Banking Great Again” principles and on a slate of bills discussed at a recent hearing on the U.S. community banking landscape. The bills covered include the Fair Audits and Inspections for Regulators (FAIR) Exams Act (H.R. 940) and the Small Lenders Exempt from New Data Excessive Reporting (LENDER) Act (H.R. 941), both sponsored by Chairman French Hill, alongside the Promoting New Bank Formation Act (H.R. 478), the 1071 Repeal to Protect Small Business Lending Act (H.R. 976), the Bank Loan Privacy Act, and the Small Bank Holding Company Relief Act. Public comments are due by March 31, 2025.
