The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that staff from its Jalal-Abad regional office conducted outreach lectures from 27 to 30 October 2025 as part of World Savings Day 2025, targeting senior school pupils and university students. The sessions covered the importance of saving and different ways to preserve and grow personal funds, alongside an overview of the central bank’s activities. Lecturers also discussed the development of the national currency (the som), rules for exchanging worn banknotes for fit notes, regional payment system developments, and the main directions of the National Bank’s monetary policy.
