Ghana’s National Insurance Commission, alongside the wider insurance industry, presented a GHS 100,000 cheque to the 37 Military Hospital to support medical care for victims of the military recruitment stampede at the El-Wak Stadium on 12 November 2025. Commissioner of Insurance Dr Abiba Zakariah also announced that the industry is in the process of establishing a National Insurance Disaster Fund to provide more structured support during future crises. Contributors to the donation included the National Insurance Commission, the Ghana Insurers Association, the Insurance Brokers Association of Ghana, the Chartered Insurance Institute of Ghana, the Ghana Insurance University College and the Ghana National bureau of the ECOWAS Brown Card Insurance Scheme. The hospital reported that several victims remain admitted across intensive care, emergency units and wards, and indicated the funds would be used to enhance treatment and recovery alongside support already being provided by the Military High Command.
