The Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF) has qualified TOPPAN Edge Inc., a group company of TOPPAN Holdings, as Japan’s first Qualified vLEI Issuer (QVI). The designation authorises TOPPAN Edge to issue and manage verifiable Legal Entity Identifier (vLEI) credentials. TOPPAN Edge will provide vLEI credentials for use cases spanning supply chain management, international trade and financial transactions, and plans to expand availability in Japan through a software-as-a-service offering. Its vLEI service is scheduled to be piloted in September 2025 by the BRP Consortium Business Site Digital Certification R&D Working Group to support supply chain management in the semiconductor and ICT sectors.
