The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA), through its Central Zone office in Dodoma, delivered an insurance awareness session for students at the Local Government College in Hombolo, Dodoma, focused on core insurance concepts, types of insurance, the importance of insurance cover, and TIRA’s role in supervising the insurance sector. The programme included Q&A and discussions on perceived achievements and challenges in insurance, with students encouraged to share the information with people close to them to support greater use of insurance as protection against adverse events. TIRA framed the outreach as part of its Corporate Strategic Plan (CSP) mandate to educate the public and broaden the domestic insurance market, with the Central Zone office covering Dodoma as well as Iringa and Manyara regions.
