The Central Bank of Estonia has published a statistical release on the assets and liabilities of Estonian households, setting out the results of the 2024 Household Finance and Consumption Survey. The release provides updated household balance sheet and financial condition data rather than announcing a policy measure. The survey is conducted on the initiative of the European Central Bank using a harmonised methodology designed to produce internationally comparable statistics. It covers households' main residence, other real estate, vehicles, business assets, deposits and other financial investments, as well as loans and other liabilities, income, consumption, expectations and credit constraints. The central bank notes that the statistical release is independent of economic policy releases and is presented separately from them.
