The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) has issued a public notice confirming that SKN Online Media Bank, also referred to as St Kitts-Nevis Online Media Bank, is not licensed under Saint Christopher and Nevis’ Banking Act, 2015 (as amended) and is not regulated or supervised by the ECCB. The ECCB reported becoming aware of a website operating under that name and purporting to be licensed in the Federation of Saint Christopher and Nevis to provide business banking and private banking services. It highlighted that Section 17 of the Banking Act requires licensed entities to display their licences conspicuously at their places of business and on their websites. The notice urges members of the public to carry out appropriate due diligence, exercise caution when dealing with unfamiliar institutions, and conduct banking activities with institutions that are duly licensed by the competent authorities.
