The Angola Capital Markets Commission took part in the fourth Conference on Sustainability in Banking, organized by the Angolan Banks Association, where it used the event to underline its focus on sustainable finance, the integration of environmental, social and governance criteria into the capital markets, and stronger regulation to support sustainable investment in Angola. The commission was represented by Executive Director Vasco Januário. Discussions at the conference centered on regulatory and supervisory challenges linked to sustainability in the banking sector. Key themes included the need for green financial instruments, alignment with international best practices, closer cooperation between regulators and market participants, capital mobilization for sustainable projects, financial inclusion, and the role of financial institutions in supporting economic development with positive social impact.
