The National Bank of Moldova provided an update on the country’s integration into the European financial market during a meeting between Governor Anca Dragu and Swedish Ambassador Petra Lärke. Citizens and businesses have saved more than EUR 13 million on cross-border euro payments in less than a year since Moldova connected to the Single Euro Payments Area in 2025. The discussion also covered progress in aligning Moldova’s financial legislation with the European Union acquis. This includes harmonizing its anti-money laundering and counterterrorist financing framework with EU requirements and pursuing equivalence of its regulatory and supervisory legislation with European Banking Authority requirements.
