The Insurance State Supervision Service of Georgia reported on the Best Annual Report and Transparency Award (BARTA) 2024 ceremony, held with its support, which recognises Georgian companies for the quality of their reporting and transparency. The annual competition is implemented with support from the World Bank’s Financial and Sustainable Development Reporting Improvement Program (CFRR). BARTA 2024 award recipients were JSC TBC Bank, JSC Bank of Georgia, JSC TBC Leasing, JSC Crystal, JSC Georgian Railway, JSC Basebank, JSC Silknet, JSC ProCredit Bank, MSO Micro Business Capital and Tegeta Motors LLC. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Insurance State Supervision Service, the Ministry of Finance, the National Bank, the Service for Accounting, Reporting and Auditing Supervision, and partner organisations; opening remarks were delivered by the World Bank’s South Caucasus Regional Director Roland Price, Deputy Minister of Finance Ekaterine Guntsadze and National Bank Vice-President Ekaterine Mikabadze, and a presentation on selection methodology, process and criteria was moderated by BARTA jury chair Paul Thompson. The release noted that BARTA was established in 2019 as part of a joint European Union and World Bank project on financial inclusion and accountability, and described it as a platform for sharing information and ideas across large financial and non-financial companies and small and medium-sized enterprises.
