The Brazil Securities Commission has reviewed the International Monetary Fund’s Financial System Stability Assessment and directed that recommendations within its mandate receive priority treatment. The work will focus on strengthening supervision, monitoring emerging risks, developing the capital market and improving the institutional framework of the authorities involved. The recommendations have been mapped, prioritized and placed under formal monitoring by the commission’s Governance and Risk Management Committee. Where recommendations apply across government bodies, the commission will coordinate with the Central Bank of Brazil and other authorities through existing institutional mechanisms and assess whether those arrangements need improvement.
