Mexico’s National Commission for the Protection and Defense of Financial Services Users (CONDUSEF) published statistics on financial-services complaints in the state of Zacatecas covering January to November 2025, reporting MXN 69 million in total amounts claimed and MXN 19.7 million recovered for users from concluded complaints. Overall, 53.5% of concluded cases were resolved in favour of the user, and 72.3% of complaints in Zacatecas were handled through CONDUSEF’s electronic management process. By municipality, Guadalupe accounted for 30.2% of complaints, followed by Zacatecas (29.2%) and Fresnillo (11.8%). The issuance of a special credit report was the most frequent individual cause of complaint, while credit-report issuance, unrecognised purchases and unrecognised electronic transfers together represented 28.1% of all complaints. Credit cards, special credit reports and debit cards made up 50.3% of product-related complaints, and by sector commercial banks received 55.9% of complaints, credit information companies 20.8% and insurers 8.5%; 26.6% of complaints were linked to suspected fraud. CONDUSEF also highlighted its online channels for handling complaints and reporting abusive debt-collection practices, and reiterated that its procedures are free and do not require intermediaries.
