The Bank of the Lao published an update on Governor Bounkhom Vorlachit’s work visits in Champasak and Savannakhet provinces on 4–5 December 2025, focused on following up local implementation priorities including promotion of Lao kip usage and compliance with foreign exchange management rules. In Champasak, the Governor attended the fifth annual 2025 Coffee, Tea and agricultural products festival in Pakxong and carried out follow-up with relevant stakeholders, including coffee producers and collectors for export. The visit also reviewed implementation of policies to promote kip usage and adherence to foreign exchange management regulations within the remit of the Bank of the Lao’s Southern regional office in Champasak. In Savannakhet, he met the Bank of the Lao’s Central regional office, with participation from headquarters officials, local staff, and more than 70 representatives from commercial bank branches and financial institutions under that office’s responsibility. The meeting heard a report on recent results, constraints and challenges, and plans for the final quarter of 2025, and the Governor commended reported Q3 2025 performance while calling for focus on key tasks and for translating Party and provincial congress resolutions and higher-level guidance into a five-year plan and the 2026 annual plan.
