The Angola Capital Markets Commission participated in the plenary meeting of the International Organization of Securities Commissions, IOSCO, Committee 8 in Madrid, centred on retail investor protection and financial education, and delivered a presentation on its investor education initiatives. Committee 8 brings together securities regulators to develop policy work and best practice on financial literacy and investor education and to advise the IOSCO Board on emerging investor protection issues. Nineteen member jurisdictions attended the two-day meeting, with the Angolan delegation led by Executive Administrator for Promotion Vasco Januário. The agenda covered the global launch of the OECD Global Money Week 2025, outcomes from the IOSCO Board’s March meeting, management of World Investor Week, a financial education presentation, the Committee 8 work plan for 2025–2026, and the activity report for World Investor Week 2024, alongside member updates on investor education and protection initiatives.
