Financial Planning Standards Board India has appointed Ramesh Vishwanathan as chief executive officer of FPSB India, the Indian subsidiary of Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd. He will assume the role later this month and will oversee the organisation’s strategic direction, growth and work to advance financial planning standards in India, with a focus on CFP certification. Vishwanathan joins with more than 25 years of leadership experience in financial services. The organisation also acknowledged Chandrakant Sureka for overseeing executive business operations on an interim basis during the transition. The appointment was announced against continued growth in India’s CFP market, where the number of CFP professionals rose 9.9% year on year in 2025 to 3,534. Globally, the CFP professional community reached 236,300 across 29 territories, and women account for 23.6% of CFP professionals in India.
