The National Bank of Georgia presented a study of Georgia’s agricultural sector, setting out an overview of the market, an analysis of the sector’s credit portfolio, and an assessment of borrowers’ solvency to evaluate the sector’s business environment and financial indicators. The document covers current trends in Georgia and globally and reports financial ratios for companies in the sector, alongside credit portfolio characteristics including distribution by currency, segment, and credit risk level. It finds stable credit growth, a high share of lari-denominated lending, and low concentration, and states that solvency analysis supports the sector’s sustainability and growth potential; the presentation was followed by a Q&A with representatives of the financial and business sectors on the findings, needs, and challenges. The National Bank of Georgia noted it has already published sector studies covering alcoholic beverages, construction materials, energy, real estate development, tourism, and hospitality, and will continue to publish sectoral research.
