The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) presented two annual student awards in Cyprus, providing total cash prizes of EUR 1,000 as part of its financial literacy outreach focused on young people. The awards are granted each year in memory of CySEC’s first Chairman, the late Frixos Sorokkos. For the 2024–2025 academic year, the recipients were Myria Pornari of the University of Limassol and Loukas Philippou of the University of Cyprus, each receiving EUR 500. The prizes were presented at graduation ceremonies held on 26 June at the University of Limassol and on 30 June at the University of Cyprus, by CySEC officials Elena Karkoti and Andreas Papagiannis, respectively.
