The National Bank of Moldova reported on Governor Anca Dragu’s participation in a high-level central bank conference in Brussels hosted by the National Bank of Belgium, where she moderated a panel on innovation and set out priorities for strengthening the resilience and cybersecurity of financial infrastructures through the responsible adoption of new technologies and cross-border cooperation. Discussions at the event, attended by governors and officials from the International Monetary Fund’s OEDNE constituency, covered monetary policy in the current geopolitical context, financial stability in Europe and globally, and the impact of new technologies on the financial sector. Dragu’s panel featured the Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine, Andriy Pyshnyy, and Jo De Boeck, Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer at IMEC; she cited the National Bank of Moldova’s MIA Instant Payments system as a regional example of digital modernization, noting that around half of Moldovan bank account holders use it to make payments.
