The Thailand Office of Insurance Commission published an update on its ongoing insurance literacy initiative, setting out a four-quarter, theme-based approach and a partnership model with public and private stakeholders to improve public understanding of insurance. The quarterly themes cover compulsory insurance required by law and sustainability-linked products in quarter one, life insurance and savings alongside agricultural and SME insurance in quarter two, tourism-related insurance products in quarter three, and life and health insurance plus tax-deductible and retirement products in quarter four. To operationalise the plan, the Office held a joint meeting on 17 February 2025 with industry associations and participating life and non-life insurers to align on cooperation and the development of communications materials aimed at providing accurate information to target groups. The update also noted recent supervisory and consumer-support activities, including insurance dispute mediation that resolved 94.57% of cases, and the use of recurring misunderstanding-driven issues to refine public-facing content.
