Securities Commission Malaysia convened the inaugural ASEAN Investment Roadshow in London with FTSE Russell, presenting ASEAN as a long-term investment destination and Malaysia as a gateway to regional fundraising and investment opportunities. The event brought together about 100 institutional investors, asset managers, regulators, index providers and other market participants to discuss efforts to improve the region’s accessibility and investability. The initiative supports the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum agenda and Malaysia’s Capital Market Masterplan 2026–2030, which targets stronger regional fundraising, cross-border investment and regulatory cooperation. The commission highlighted ASEAN’s USD 4.26 trillion economy, population of nearly 700 million and USD 4.37 trillion in goods trade, while noting that the region remains relatively underrepresented in global portfolios. Related market access work includes the commission’s memorandum of understanding with the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission to facilitate dual-listed initial public offerings and cross-listings of eligible funds.
