The Central Bank of Iceland announced that it will publish a statement from its Financial Stability Committee at 08:30 on 4 June 2025, followed by the release of a new Payments report at 08:35, with a press conference scheduled for 09:30 covering the statement and the Financial Stability Report. Payments is being published for the first time, having previously been covered in the autumn issue of Financial Stability. The report describes payment intermediation in Iceland, the Central Bank’s priorities for payment intermediation, and its future vision; it will be released in Icelandic first, with an English version to follow at a later date. Governor Ásgeir Jónsson, who chairs the Financial Stability Committee, and Deputy Governor for Financial Stability Tómas Brynjólfsson will present and discuss the statement and priorities in payment intermediation at the press conference.
