The Central Bank of Solomon Islands, in collaboration with the Royal Australian Mint, has released a new 50 cent circulation coin featuring King Charles III. It is the second Solomon Islands circulation coin to carry the effigy, following its introduction on the USD 1 coin in 2025, and will enter circulation in October 2026. Struck in Canberra and dated 2025, the coin’s obverse uses Daniel Thorne’s effigy of King Charles III. The reverse retains the Eagle Spirit design moved to the 50 cent coin in 2012 after the 1 cent and 2 cent coins were demonetized.
