The Reserve Bank of India has notified agency banks that its e-Kuber platform will be open for processing Government receipts and payments on 30 March 2025, even though the date falls on a Sunday when such transactions are normally not processed. The move is intended to ensure that Government transactions are accounted for within financial year 2024-25 and that Central and State Government cash balances are arrived at as of 30 March 2025. e-Kuber, RBI’s core banking solution for Government and other payments, does not process Government transactions on specified “global holidays”, including all Sundays, 26 January, 15 August, 2 October, and the second and fourth Saturdays of each month. Following advice from the Office of the Controller General of Accounts, e-Kuber will accept banks’ “luggage files” for Government transaction data transfers on 30 March 2025 up to the stipulated cut-off time so that the transactions can be accounted for on that date.
