The Central Bank of Paraguay’s Securities Superintendency has made passing a competency exam mandatory for individuals seeking entry on the register of securities advisers. The measure is intended to ensure that professionals operating in the securities market have the knowledge and skills needed to perform their functions effectively and ethically. Applicants must first submit a registration request through the Securities Superintendency’s electronic Records and Agents Tool platform before they can access the examination process, provided they meet the conditions set under the applicable rules. Exams will be held in February, April, June, August, October and December when there are eligible applicants, with the first sitting scheduled for Monday 3 February 2025 at the Central Bank of Paraguay’s premises on an in-person basis. Topics to be tested include Law No. 5810/17 on the Securities Market, Law No. 7162/23 on the Securities Superintendency and the General Securities Market Regulation, among others.
