The Thailand Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Biodiversity-Based Economy Development Office (BEDO) signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate on driving conservation and the sustainable use of biodiversity through Thailand’s capital market, including encouraging market participants to embed biodiversity considerations in strategy and implementation. The cooperation is framed around mobilising capital market businesses whose operations rely on biodiversity, directly or indirectly. It includes promoting biodiversity-related information disclosure and supporting financial and economic mechanisms, including incentive measures, to encourage conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity. The SEC also referenced its ongoing biodiversity-related sustainability work with listed companies, including training and seminars, communication materials, and tools to support voluntary participation in meeting biodiversity targets under the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plans.
