The note is intended for general use, with a limited edition of 1 million notes that will circulate alongside the existing SBD 50 banknotes. The commemorative note is printed on Safeguard polymer by De La Rue. It was produced for the Central Bank of the Solomon Islands' 50th Golden Jubilee, scheduled to be held from 15 June to 18 June 2026, and was set to be officially launched on 18 June.
