Bank Negara Malaysia, together with the Malaysia International Islamic Financial Centre Leadership Council, has opened global applications for the MIFC Global Impact Challenge 2025, a competition aimed at sourcing impact-driven financial solutions that strengthen social resilience and address climate challenges. The initiative is positioned to spur innovation in Islamic finance and encourage investment into fintech and impact-focused startups. Shortlisted applicants will join an accelerator programme designed to improve both commercial viability and measurable impact. The Challenge is held in partnership with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the Islamic Finance Council UK, the Islamic Development Bank, and the World Bank Group Inclusive Growth & Sustainable Finance Hub in Malaysia, with Asia School of Business’ Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center as the knowledge partner and accelerator provider and the Fintech Association of Malaysia as the ecosystem partner. Up to four winners will be selected on a demo day on 12 October 2025 and announced at the Global Islamic Finance Forum 2025 on 13 October 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, with cash prizes and partner support for up to 12 months.
