Union of Arab Securities Authorities joins IOSCO GEMC annual meetings in Malta focusing on cross-border risks and regulatory innovation

The Union of Arab Securities Authorities (UASA), represented by its Secretary General, participated in the IOSCO Growth and Emerging Markets Committee (GEMC) annual meetings in Malta, held from 18 to 20 November 2025, alongside regulators from the GEMC and IOSCO European Regional Committee to discuss shared priorities in global financial markets. The programme opened with a public conference organised by the Malta Financial Services Authority on emerging-market opportunities, capital-market development and regulatory innovation, including crypto-assets and artificial intelligence. The meetings then moved to the GEMC plenary, workshops for emerging jurisdictions and the full European Regional Committee meeting, with discussions centred on cross-border risks, international cooperation and capacity-building initiatives.
