The National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan published an account of remarks by Chairman Firdavs Tolibzoda at an event marking 35 years of national independence. He reviewed the banking sector’s development from the creation of an independent monetary and banking framework to a modern financial system, and reiterated that financial stability, effective regulation and supervision, and improved service quality remain the central priorities. The banking system now includes a national payment system, electronic infrastructure, modern supervisory mechanisms, international financial reporting standards and a financial inclusion strategy. Broader policy priorities include maintaining moderate inflation, expanding access to financial services and credit, increasing cashless payments, attracting investment and digitizing services.
