The Central Bank of Kuwait has announced that holders of Kuwaiti banknotes from the fifth issue have until Friday 18 April 2025 to exchange them, after which any exchange request will be disregarded. Exchanges can only be completed at the Central Bank of Kuwait’s Banking Hall. To exchange the outdated notes, holders must attend the Banking Hall during official working hours (8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., or 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. during Ramadan) and present the necessary documentation. The deadline follows Article 10 of Law No. 32 of 1968 (as amended) and Resolution No. 37/405/2015 withdrawing all denominations of the fifth issue from circulation, under which the fifth issue ceased to be legal tender after the grace period and remained exchangeable at the Central Bank of Kuwait for a 10-year extended period ending on 18 April 2025.
