The Central Bank of Brunei Darussalam (BDCB) has commissioned Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) to run the Brunei Darussalam Financial Inclusion Demand-Side Survey 2025, with fieldwork scheduled from 24 February 2025 to 30 March 2025. The survey is intended to measure the level of financial inclusion in Brunei Darussalam, identify gaps and barriers, and support efforts to improve access to financial products and services. The study is expected to cover 2,600 individuals nationwide across a diverse cross-section of the population, using face-to-face interviews lasting no more than one hour. Questions will focus on individuals’ and households’ financial behaviour, access, preferences and needs, and BDCB and UTB stated that information collected will be kept confidential and used exclusively for the survey; UTB-appointed interviewers will contact selected participants, who are advised to verify interviewers’ identity via a UTB-issued work pass.
