The Bank of Ghana published Governor Dr. Johnson Pandit Asiama’s keynote address launching the 3i Africa Summit 2026, framing the Summit’s theme, “Shaping Africa’s Integrated FinTech Future,” around deeper integration of Africa’s financial systems, markets and regulatory approaches. The address highlighted practical priorities for moving beyond “innovation in silos,” including stronger interoperability across payment systems and markets, investment in trusted digital public infrastructure, coherent and enabling regulatory approaches, renewed commitment to cross-border integration, and a continued focus on inclusion. The Governor positioned the 3i Africa platform, supported by the Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems and the Global Finance and Technology Network, as a forum to align regulators, industry and investors and to translate broad policy ambition into practical execution. The period between the launch and the Summit was presented as a window for stakeholders to engage early, build partnerships, and refine ideas and commitments ahead of the Summit convening.
